C. W. Williams officiating, interment in Many cemetery under the direction of Dennis-Green funeral home. Surviving are: wife, Mrs. Margaret Williams; six children, five sons, Herald of Many, Herbert of Shreveport, S. J., Jr., of Huntsville, Texas, Carl of Minneapolis, Minn., Geroge Harmon of U. S. Marines, one daughter, Mrs. J. R. Stewart of Camp Blanding,, Gainesville, Fla.; five grandchildren, nine brothers, B. L. , L. L., S. K., and E. L. of Florien, R. L. of Shreveport, D. S. of Natchitoches, W. B. of Jennings, V. B. of Port Arthur, Texas, and T. J. of Eunice; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Dover, Mrs. Bessie Curtis of Florien and Mrs. W. E. Leach of Houston, Texas; stepmother, Mrs. J. H. Williams of Florien. Pallbearers were: W. M. Knott, Robert Jackson, J. H. Ritter, Clifton Massingill, O. E. Williams, J. D. Nevels, R. L. Clark and Harold Sisson. Mr. Williams was one of Many and Sabine parish's most prominent citizens, died suddenly at the family residence near Many last Thursday at one a.m. His passing was a shock to the community as he had not been sick. He passed away within a short time after being stricken with a heart attack. Mr. Williams had been in the cotton ginning business up to two years ago when he sold his gin and retired, served several years as a member of the Sabine Parish school board, was an active member of the local Methodist lodge, having served as tiler for several years, was also a member of the Eastern Star, and interested in civic activities.
