Williams, 82, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, in Shreveport. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 28, at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel, with interment following at Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery, with full military honors. Bro. Bill Stowell officiated. Williams retired from the U. S. Air Force, after serving 25 years. He was in the Bataan Death March, and was a prisoner of war for 3 1/2 years. He also retired from the Southland Corp. Special thanks to Kenneth and Bonnie Corley, and Wiley Smith, for their care and support. Survivors include his widow, Geraldine Sandel Williams of Bossier City; children, James Q. Williams of Beaumont, Texas, Roland E. Williams of Bard, N. M., Wanda Lea Williams of Round Rock, Texas, Bobbie J. Chance of Florien, James Gerald Chance of Quitman, Texas, and Renee Beason of Anacoco; and 10 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were the John Elkins Sunday School Class of the Ark-La-Tex Chapter One of Ex-POW. Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Bossier City, La.
