The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath's Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, Friday, Jan. 13, 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were conducted by Bishop Gordon Hanchett, Elders Dillard Glass, and Robert Weenig, at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m., at the Strickland Family Cemetery, located on the Fisher Fire Tower Road in Many. Mrs. Williams was born in Sabine Parish, and was a resident of Shreveport most of her life. She was a devout Morman, belonging to the Second Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She received her Temple Endowments at the Salt Lake City Temple, Sept. 16, 1988. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Julian Williams. She is survived by two daughters, Anne Strickland of Knoxville, Tenn., and Martha Bordelon of Shreveport; three brothers, A. G. Strickland of Dry Prong, Orvie Doyle Strickland of Winnfield, and Eddie Burton Strickland of Turner Town, Texas; four grandchildren, Donald, Darryll, and Leslie V. Tanner, and Laura Tanner Gilbert; two great grandchildren; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Donald Tanner, Darryll Tanner, Kelly Strickland, Jerry Strickland, and Michael Gilbert. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 200 Carroll Street, Shreveport, La. 71105. The Strickland family has lost its most cherished friend and loyal companion in the Full meaning of unconditional, earthly love. She was everybody's faithful friend.
