Williams (Photo) Marcy Lee Williams, 84, died at Willis Knighton North Hospital last Friday evening, September 7, 2001, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, September 15, at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many, with interment to follow in Zwolle Cemetery. Funeral home visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. Friday, September 14. Marcy was born in Zwolle on March 10, 1917, to the union of John Parrie and Catalina Meshell, who both preceded her in death. She was known around the Zwolle area as "P.A.", and will be remembered for her warm hospitality and quick sense of humor that lightened every day. She loved to cook, entertain, and spend time with her family. She created a unique hobby, making doilies and doll clothes from Long Leaf pine straw, woven together with colored yarns. Marcy was the second of seven children born to Catalina and John Parrie. Her older sister, Evelyn Crawford preceded her in death, and Marcy is survived by her twin sister, Victoria Parrie, who lives at Toledo Nursing Center in Zwolle, Jesse Earl "Kye" Parrie of Oil City, Ind., Tony Parrie of Zwolle, Elmo "Pete" Parrie of Mount Pleasant, Texas, and George Franklin "Turkn" Parrie. Survivors include nine children; 19 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. Her children are Catherine "Honey" Douglas of Springhill, Jess Mahon of San Diego, Calif., Marcy Lee "Dee Dee" Parrie of Escondido, Calif., Lovey McGahan of Keithville, Diane Barthlow of Houston, Texas, Danny Hix of Stockdale, Texas, Debra Gay of Denver, Colo., DaNette Best of Cheyenne Wyo., and Michelle Denese Seiler of Odessa, Texas. Pallbearers will be members of the family. The family would like to express appreciation to the staff of Landmark Nursing Home in Shreveport for making the last year of her life so nice. Marcy's popularity earned her the title, "Miss Landmark" in September 2000. She was loved, and will be missed by many. Warren Meadows, Many, La.
