Williams, 84, died Monday, April 19, at Willis Knighton Hospital, and went home to be with his Lord, and to join his beloved wife of 54 years. Mr. Williams was born in Florien on Oct. 6, 1914. He was a cotton planter, and tree farmer, and was retired from the KCS Railroad, after many years of service. Mr. Williams was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bossier City. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, April 22, at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel, with burial following at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Avenue. The Rev. Billy Pierce, pastor of Cypress Baptist Church, officiated. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie Williams Corley, and Ken Corley of Bossier City; one brother, Winifred Williams and wife Geraldine of Bossier City; a grandson, David Corley of Bossier City; a granddaughter, Julie Corley Huffstickler and husband Donny of Flower Mound, Texas; and three great grandchildren, Megan, Corley, and Matthew Huffstickler, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Gertie Miller Williams; his parents, Sam and Pearl Williams; a brother, Quinton Williams; and a sister, Madge McConnell. The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Neil Walker for his compassionate care. Pallbearers were David Corley, Donny Hoffstickler, Frank Maxie, John McConathy, Earl Haynes, Harold Wright, Randy Smith, and Fletcher Christian.
