Williams Sr., 84, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, in Many, after an extended illness. Funeral services are to be held Friday, Feb. 24, in the Florien Baptist Church, with the Rev. Billy Fuller, and the Rev. L. B. Richie officiating. Burial will be in Florien Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Emily Williams of Florien; three sons, Edward L. Williams Jr., and J. Curtis Williams, both of Shreveport, and Kenneth L. Williams of Many; one daughter, Mrs. Raymond H. Smith of San Francisco, Calif.; one brother, Van B. Williams of Port Arthur, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Leach of Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Bessie Curtis of Florien; and seven children. Pallbearers will be Curtis B. Williams, Mac Dover, Harold Williams, Howard Williams, the Rev. Roy Dowden, W. Bryan Williams Jr., Cecil Williams, Ralph McLanahan. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Bible Class of Florien Baptist Church, Dr. S. F. Fraser, and Dr. Herbert Rowland. The remains will be taken to Florien Baptist Church, at 10:30 a.m., and will lie in state until service time.
