He was formerly of Conroe, Texas. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., April 2, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Many, with interment following at Pilgrim Rest Church Cemetery. The Rev. John Lewing, pastor of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, officiated, and the Rev. Mike Henderson, former pastor of Pilgrim Rest, assisted. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Bettye Williams of Toledo Bend; two sons, James Garth Williams of Pasadena, Texas, and Charles D. "Pete" Williams and wife Annett of Conroe, Texas; one daughter, Judy Oliva Stotts and husband Bob of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two sisters, Mellonee Jennings and husband Jimmy of Pampa, Texas, and Lorraine Lackey and husband Bill of Delores, Colo.; one brother, Henry Ray Williams and wife Ruth of Zwolle; five grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; and other family and friends.
