Williams, 79, of Many, died Monday, Nov. 7, in Many, after an extended illness. Funeral services were held in Ft. Jesup Trinity Baptist Church, Wednesday, Nov. 9, with the Rev. H. T. Isgitt, Dr. Cecil Knippers, and the Rev. B. T. McInnis officiating. Burial was in the Ft. Jesup Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Mr. Williams was born in Ft. Jesup, the son of Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Williams. Forty nine years ago, he married the former Miss Mary Miller of Ft. Jesup, and have enjoyed a long and happy union. Mr. Williams operated his general merchandise business in the old building on San Antonio Ave., for more than 50 years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Williams; three sons, C. H. Williams of DeRidder, Elmer Williams, and W. A. Williams of Many; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Franklin of Pueblo Colorado, and Mrs. Rebecca Tynes of Houston, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. J. E. Roberts of Baton Rouge; one brother, Henry O. Williams of Bossier City; one half sister, Mrs. Hazel Helms of Jackson, Miss.; and six grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Herbert Leach, C. J. Miller, Leroy Miller, T. J. Geoghagan, R. O. Roberts, Ira Williams, D. C. Varnell, and Lester Williams. Honorary pallbearers were Judge John S. Pickett Sr., Sheriff T. M. Phillips, Dr. A. B. Tramel, J. C. Ritter Jr., Georg Boyens, Judge William Ponder, J. W. Lucius, and O. E. Williams.
