"Jack" Williams of Shreveport, who drowned at 3:30 a.m., on Sunday, May 26, was recovered by the Sabine Parish Sheriff's Dept. on Sunday, June 2, at 10:20 a.m. Williams' body was recovered approximately 1/4 of a mile from where he and his fishing companion, Ernest Ward of Shreveport, drowned. The men were night fishing at the time of the accident. On the scene at the recovery were Wayne Turner, Sabine Parish Deputy, Edgar Savell, La. Wildlife and Fisheries Commission Game Warden, Don Killian, Toledo Bend Project, and Jim Stevison of the Sabine River Authority. Appreciation was expressed by Deputy Travis Bennett of the Sabine Parish Sheriff's Dept. "We appreciate all the help and cooperation offered by everyone who helped in the dragging operations," Bennett said.
