All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Monroe Williams Funeral services for Monroe Williams, 72, of Woodville, Tex., were held at 2 p.m., Monday, in the Fairview First Baptist Church, with burial in the Hester Cemetery, under the direction of Edward's Funeral Home. He died at 10:40 p.m., Friday, in the Tyler County Hospital, after an illness. A native of Louisiana, he had lived in Woodville for the past ten years. He was a retired painter. Survivors include his widow, Pearl Williams of Woodville; two sons, Lamar Williams of Beaumont, and Richard Williams of Spurger; two daughters, Etoile Jones of Austin, and Billie Zook of Woodville; three brothers, Manuel Williams of Lake Village, Ark., Curtis Williams of Shreveport, and J. W. Williams of Port Arthur; four sisters, Mary Speights of Negreet, Cora Polke of Hemphill, Alice Jones of Beaumont, and Pearlie Anthony of Many; ten grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
