Winn, 72 years, of 2915 DuPoint St., Shreveport, died Saturday at 10 a.m., at a local hospital in Shreveport, after a long illness. Funeral services were held at Osborn Funeral Home Chapel in Shreveport at 2 p.m., Sunday. The Rev. Jack Merritt, pastor of Ingleside Baptist Church of Shreveport, officiated. Dr. Kelly Fitzgerald, pastor of First Baptist Church of Many, conducted graveside services at Fort Jesup Cemetery at 5 p.m., Sunday. Pallbearers were Martin Mims, Jerry Winn, Wilton Anthony, Reuben Goodman, C. L. Kniepp, and J. W. Whitton. Mr. Winn was an employee of the Shreveport Times circulation department for many years, and was a safety patrolman for the school board, and Broadmoor Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow, Della "Varnado" Winn; two sons, Linnie C. of Shreveport, Ray Hewitt of New Orleans; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Tullos of Arlington, Tenn.; one sister, Mrs. Nettie Huskin of Shreveport; two brothers, Marshall Winn of Robeline, Gilbert Winn of Natchitoches; and four grandchildren.
