All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - Emma Bula Winfree 29 Mar 1957 - Last rites for Emma Bula Winfree, who died March 12 at the Allen Hospital, Converse, was conducted at the Converse Methodist church at 4 p.m. Wednesday church at 4 p.m., Wednesday, March 13 with Rev. Billy Vines officiating, assisted by Rev. H. T. Isgitt. Interment was in Converse cemetery under the direction of Drewitt Funeral home of Mansfield. Survivors are three children, Dan Winfree, Mrs. Emma Tatum both of Converse, Mrs. Oma Anderson, of Noble, one grandson, Smith Tatum of Converse, three step-grandsons, Curtis, Floyd and Roger Spurlock of Converse, two brothers, Lawrence Boyd and Hamilton Boyd, both of Converse, three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Cassel of Noble, Mrs. Ettie Norwood, Converse, Mrs. Zula Ford of Griffin, Ind. Pallbearers were her nephews, J. P. Cassel, Converse, T. H. Cassel of Harrisonburg, Roy Boyd of Converse, Leon Boyd of Shreveport and W. H. Boyd, Jr. of Houma and Ted Paul of Converse. Mrs. Winfree was born on Sept. 24, 1881 at Shelbyville, Texas. She came to Converse when she was a child and spent her life there. She was the daughter of the late B. E. Boyd and Dovie Daugherty Boyd.
