Funeral services were held in the Many First Baptist Church Sunday, Oct. 23, with Dr. Kelly Fitzgerald, the Rev. W. H. Bengston and the Rev. Billy Fuller officiating. Burial was in the Many cemetery under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Survivors include his wife; Mrs. Ethel Wright of may; one son, Vernice Calvin Wright of Many; his mother Mrs. Pearl Wright of Florien; two brothers, Melvin Wright of Many and Melton Wright of Florien and three grandchildren. Mr. Wright was born and raised in Florien. It was there he was graduated from High School. After graduation he and his father were in the mercantile business at Florien for about 10 years. Later he operated grocery stores in Leesville and Marshal, Tex. In 1950, Mr. Wright and his brother Melton opened Wright Bors. Piggly Wiggly in Many. The store has continued to grow and prosper since then. Only last summer, Mrs. Wright's son, Vernice, joined the staff of the store. Mr. Wright was a member of the Many Fist Baptist Church and of the Many Lions Club. His parents were Mrs. Pearl Leach Wright and Mr. T. W. Wright. On Dec. 24, 1931, Mrs. Wright married the former Ethel Tompkins of Many.
