Wright Funeral services for Willie Oscar Wright of Zwolle, were held on Saturday, March 21, at 10:30 a.m., in the Zwolle First Baptist Church. The Rev. Fisk Ray, church pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Zwolle Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Woodrow Salter, Mike Pearson, Michael Pearce, Clarence Bullard, Sherman Tatum, Jim Graves, Pete McCormick, and Dole Dewitt. Honorary pallbearers were Gene McLeroy, Kenneth Wright, Marbry Wayne Greer, N. O. Wright, Jr., Oscar Wright, and Donald Throckmorton. Mr. Wright died at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, in Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport, following an extended illness. He was 74. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bessie Wright of Zwolle; two daughters, Sharon Ricke of Bossier City, and Kathryn Littlepage of Colfax; two brothers, F. I. Wright of Natchitoches, and N. O. Wright of Converse; three sisters, Sybil McLeroy of Houston, Tex., Shirley Greer of Many, and Lucille Throckmorton of Jacksonville, Ark.; and six grandchildren. Retired from the oilfield business, Mr. Wright remained active operating a small herd of beef cattle, and a hay farm, until his death. A former president of the Sabine Parish Fair, Mr. Wright also worked as a committeeman out of the ASCS Office. He served the Zwolle First Baptist Church as a deacon for some 45 years. Mr. Wright, a concerned citizen, was featured in a story urging people to donate to the Sabine Parish Volunteer Blood Program last year.
