All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Edward Burton (Bud) Wright Funeral services for Edward Burton Wright, were held Thursday, June 16, 1983, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Many. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Funeral direction was under the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mr. Wright expired Tuesday, June 14, at 2:15 p.m., at the age of 63, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Alene Wright of Many; one son, Garthe S. Wright of Many; one daughter, Sande Rowland of Antlers, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Zane, and Nicholas Rowland, also of Antlers, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Wright was a lifelong resident of Many, Louisiana, except the time spent in the China-Burma-India area during World War II. He owned and operated a dry cleaning business for many years, and was known as the "Bubble Gum Man" to all the children at that time. He was also an avid sportsman until the last few years, hunting and fishing at every opportunity. In his youth he participated in football and baseball. Pallbearers were Burton Y. Wright, William A. Wright, Charles W. Wright, Carroll Salley, Arthur Fluitt, and John E. Mowad, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Joseph (Buddy) Dees, Benny McNeely, Sr., Truman D. Nichols, Hubert Andries, Joe Luster, Douglas Curtis, Dr. C. B. Tramel, William R. Boone, S. Mike Nichols, Harold Andries, Joe Mowad, and Harry Nichols.
