Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Jan. 18, at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Harpers Chapel Cemetery in Hemphill, Texas. The Rev. Doyle Carpenter officiated. Survivors include two daughters, Mable Corley, and Rose Burns; and husband, Leonard, all of Many; two sons, John Harper and wife Stella of Porter, Texas, and Joe Harper of Navarro, Texas; sister, Lillian Arthur of Many; 16 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, including her extended IHS South Family. Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Harper, and R. A. Ward; daughter, Fay Peters; son, Jack Harper; parents, Joseph and Janie Speight; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Roland Arthur, Lance Burns, Logan Burns, Lynn Burns, Kyle Dempsey, Rocky Harper, and Sidney Speight. Warren Meadows, Many, La.
