Wardel, 59, of Many, was held Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 10 a.m., in Bunkie. Frank Wardel was killed in a car-truck collision, seven miles south of Coulterville, about 9 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 30. Mr. Wardel was honored with a color guard, honor guard, taps were played, and a 21 gun salute. The American flag was presented to his wife, Mrs. Irma Wardel of Many. The Rev. Carl Hudson officiated, and the burial was at Pithian Cemetery. Burial was under the direction of Hixson Bros. Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Frank Wardel Jr. of Many, and Walter Wardel of Baton Rouge; one daughter from Shreveport, Margaret Ann Wardel; one brother; and four sisters.
