All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Benedict Dominic Yanez Funeral services were conducted for Mr. Benedict Dominic Yanez, age 20 of Big Spring, at Nalley-Pickle Funeral Home in Big Spring. A Memorial Mass was held at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shreveport. He died Tuesday, Oct. 27, in Big Spring. Mr. Yanez, born March 29, 1961, in Big Spring, was raised in Shreveport, and had lived in Big Spring one year. He attended St. Joseph Elementary in Shreveport, where he played football, and Byrd High School, where he was in the Band. He served in the U. S. Army, and graduated from basic training at Fort Gordon, Ga., with honors. He was a member of the Catholic Church, and served as Alter Boy at St. John Berchmans Co-Cathedral in Shreveport. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred M. Yanez, Sr. of Shreveport; five sisters, Carmen Watson of Zwolle, Maria Martin of Houston, Tex., Mary Ann Garcia of Big Spring, Rita Horton, and Theresa Yanez of Shreveport; three brothers, Wilfred Yanez, Jr., and Michael Yanez of Shreveport, and John Yanez of Dallas, Tex.; his grandmother, Nora Goldfelter of Greensboro, N. C., and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
