Reprinted by permission. Dedicated to the memory of Reuben Cooper and Raymond Riggs. MACEDONIA BAPTIST CHURCH, a Negro Baptist church, is located on Horseshoe Road north of Albany. It was organized in 1916 by Bro. M.L. Montgomery, and land for the building was granted by Jim Rogers, one of the original members. The first school for blacks in the area was held in Macedonia church, but in 1921 a building was erected for a school.
