All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** State of Louisiana Parish of Franklin Know all men by these presents that on this the 12th day of September AD 1843 Personally came and appeared before me the undersigned Judge in and for the Parish and State aforesaid Elvira Hewitt wife of Pascal Austin being authorized and assisted by the same who acknowledged she has this day bargained sold and conveyed and does by these presents grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto Isaac W. Choat of the Parish and state aforesaid all her right title interest and claim in and to a certain negro man named Dick forty five years of age To have and to hold the said negro to him the said Isaac W. Choat his heirs executors and assigns for ever.  And the same day and date aforesaid came Isaac W. Choat aforesaid and acknowledged that he accepts the above conveyance in all its parts and clauses.  In testimony whereof the said Elvira Hewitt wife of the aforesaid as vendor and Isaac W. Choat as purchaser have hereunto subscribed their names in presence of Levi Barfield and Elijah McKinzie the subscribing witnesses hereto this day and date first herein written. Choat I authorize and concur with my wife in making and signing the above deed of Conveyance this September 12th AD 1843.                       P.
