George King was appointed by Governor Claiborne in 1806 and left office in 1842. April 14,1810 - Jessy Yocum sells for the sum of $1,200 cash to Augustine Fonteneau two negroes, one boy named Simon and a girl named Ginnery. The sale was completed on March 4, 1810. Witnesses: Joseph Reves, Jesse Yocum, April 21, 1810- William Collins sells for the sum of $300.00 cash to Florentin Poiret a certain negro girl slave named Lucy, age about 10 years. Said Lucy is warranted to be free from all diseases prescribes by law. Witnesses: Allan D. Thom and D.J. Sutton April 24, 1810 - John Dudley of the County of Scott and State of Kenctucky for an in consideration of the sum of $550.00 cash paid, receipt acknowledged sells to Andre Martin of the Parish of Attakapas and Territory of Orleans acertain negro man named Peter, aged about twenty- three years. Said slave has a sore leg but is warranted to be free from all diseases. Witnesses: Joseph Roy and D.J. Sutton May 4, 1810 - James Tutt for the sum of $500.00 cash in hand, sells to Michael Prudhomme a certain negro woman slave named Nancy aged about eighteen years. Witnesses: D. J. Sutton and George S. Gray. May 7, 1810 = DONATION OF SLAVE William Jones for and in consideration of the natural love and affection he bears for his infant son Benjamin Jones and for gives and grant to said Benjamin Jones a negro boy aged about eleven years named Baptiste. Witnesses: Thomas Nicholls, D.J. Sutton May 4, 1810 - Samuel Griffith of the District of St. Charles of upper Louisiana, for the sum of $525.00 cash, sells to John B. Figurant one negro boy about sixteen years of age named Harry a slave for life. Witnesses: Louis Chachere, Joseph Reeves, William Moore May 17, 1810 - William Byrd of Virginia sells to Martin Donato, for the sum of $400.00 cash, a certain negro boy slave named Phillip, age about thirteen. William Byrd. Witnesses: Gillies Thompson, D.J. Sutton. George King May 18, 1810 - TRANSFER OF SLAVE - I do hereby relinquish all right and title that I have or hereafter might have had to a mulatto girl named Phoebe which Christ Adams sold to William Garrett in consequences of a mortgage executed to me by said Adams. Given under my hand and seal on this 18th day of May 1810. June 5, 1810 - Joseph Willis, Free Person of Color for the sum of $480.00 cash, sells to Godefroy Soileau a certain negro girl named Anis age about 13 years. Witnesses: Richard Slaughter and D.J. Sutton. June 28, 1810 - Robert Taylor sells to Robert Rogers a certain negro boy slave named Sam aged about ten years, price $350.00 cash. Witnesses: Edwin Lorrain and Daniel Callihgan July 2, 1810 - James Boyce of Garrard County in Kentucky sells to George King a negro woman slave named Molly age aboyt 25 twenty-five years and born in America having ____ toes on each of her feet. King pays $500.00 cash and promises to pay $525.00 in the month of April next. Witnesses: Gillies Thompson and Samuel McIntire July 9, 1910 - John Collins sells to Daniel J. Sutton for $535.00 cash a certain negro slave named Edward aged about ninteen years. Witnesses: William Cunningham, J.D. Reeves July 5, 1810 - William Ganard sells with mortgage to Messieurs Moore and Jackson merchants, two negro slaves: a woman named Phoebe and a boy named Primus. Witnesses: Thomas C. Nicholls and David L. Todd
