This is the deed for a sale of slaves in Union Parish: Two (2) slaves were
bought by Wiley Cook,my Great-great-grandfather, a girl named "Dianah," age
17, and a boy named "Martin," age 11, for the sum of $1525.00 on  December
22th, 1852. Wiley Cook gave these same (2) two slaves to William McClelland
Moore and his new bride, Elizabeth Cook, for a wedding present. Both deeds
are recorded in the courthouse at Farmerville, Union Parish, Louisiana.
