I just ran out to Crown Point Cemetery to take a picture of Oscar Lyons grave to send to Rosemary and Ken Taylor was out there cutting grass. He said that the funeral is tomorrow. This is Elmo's wife. I'm sure that there will be a longer obit in tomorrow's paper. I got a new digital camera for Christmas from my sweet wonderful Mother and she let me have it early, (so I could learn how to use it! hehe) Ruby M. Lyons DEQUINCY -- Funeral arrangements for Ruby M. You are still one of 31 subscribers to the John Lyons list. I don't think you have missed any posts since September. Things have just really slowed down. I would love to see things going again. Is there anyone working on this family that needs new information? I personally am always looking for family trees to add to my database. If you haven't already sent me your branch and would like to do so I will be happy to cover expenses on your part. I am anxious to get started on the father of our John Sr. who is thought to be SAMUEL of GERMANY. Any thoughts or resources on this? Look forward to hearing from you all soon. I never did get to meet them, just phone talk. Poor Elmo. I know exactly where she will be buried - I've seen their tombs when we've been to Perkins - he told me about them being near the back fenceline corner. Thanks for letting me know - I'll send a card. I'm sure you've talked to Elmo; how's he handling this? Thanks for the pic of Oscar's marker - that camera (and the user) did a great job. Most was the usual, but I was delighted to hear from you. I am in E. Texas in a town called Sulphur Springs, Tx. E. of Greenville. You asked about documentation. We have a group of Earhart men that have full documentation on the family in their possession and have charted the family to the Hopkins County Texas area ( which is here). In reviewing your information of their marriage date (Nancy to John) she would have to have been the daughter of either 1. Jacob Earhart 17xx - 18xx who served in the S.C. Militia 1759 - 1760 or 2. Phillip Earhart 17xx - ? who (looks like ti reads "sertes") in Continental line from North Carolina during American Revolution. Their brother Godfrey is our relative and they had a sister Sophia that married George Drafts, Sr. Godfrey had children named Jacob, Catherine, John (who married a Nancy) Sallie married a Harmon, Daniel, J. Mary (married a Williams), Geroma (f) married a Roof and Sophia who married a Martin Lybrand None of these seem to fall into the time frame and if you are able to tie into the #1 or #2 I would love to hear back from you....really either way as I know how difficult it is to document the 1700's. (I am working on JONES!! also imagine that!) Goodluck, hope this will assist you somewhat. You have at your back door the national archives in Ft. Worth. Keep saying I am coming over to check it out. Jorene PS If I run into anything I will keep your information at hand. This fact is well known. What is not so well known is that he apparently had another wife. On the 1880 Calcasieu census, Josephine, age 17, was still living in her parents' household in old Ward 8. On the same census, there's an Allen J. Lyons, age 21, and wife Jasintha H., age 19, also living in old Ward 8. This lady cannot be Josephine Rigmaiden, and if this is the same Allen she married, then he had a first wife who disappeared from the scene prior to 30 Jan 1882. Can anyone confirm that Allen did in fact have another wife and/or identify the parents of the said Jasintha (probably Jacintha)? 2) Louis E. Mazilly, born 3 Jun 1909, reportedly married a Maggie Lyons, date and place unknown. Louis is buried in the Rigmaiden Cemetery in Calcasieu Parish, but there's no Maggie Lyons there. Since Louis died at age 32, chances are good that Maggie remarried and if deceased is buried under another name. Can anyone identify Maggie's full name, parents, and other husband(s)?
