List of Soldiers' Families Entitled to the Bounty of the State of Louisiana
Catahoula Parish - 3 Oct 1864 - War Book
(A Separate Book Used Before & During the American Civil War)

Pages 190 - 192   Some entries not fully legible, since text runs into the
binding.

Men shown here are from the Confederate Regiments commanded by Capt. 
Purvis, Col. Harrison's 3rd LA Cavalry;  Capt. Scott's 17 LA Volunteers; 
Capt. Peck; Capt. Caldwell's Heavy Artillery and the Catahoula Guerillas.  
There were others not mentioned by name, due to the fact, their status was 
unknown, since they were behind enemy Federal lines.  There had not been a 
meeting of the Catahoula Parish Police Jury since the Fall of Vicksburg, 
Mississippi.  And the aid authorized by the State Legislature had not been 
drawn by those listed below and were in desparate need of the allotments.
