Declaration For Widow's Pension
State of Louisiana, County of Orleans, on this 8th day of August AD
one thousand eight hundred and ninety personally appeared before me
a Notary Public within and for the county and State aforesaid, Marie
Ursule Lavigne aged 57 years and a resident of the City of New Orleans,
county of Orleans State of Louisiana, who being sworn according to
law declares that she is the widow of Victor Jean Louis Lavigne who
enlisted under the name Victor Lavigne in New Orleans on the 12th
day of September 1862 in the 1st Reg La Native Guards, after assigned
to the 91st Reg USCT as 2nd Lieut. and served at least ninety days
in the late War of the Rebellion, who was Honorable Discharged Sept
7th, 1863 and died May 17th 1878.
