During his visit to the Tribune office, Richard said the people of today died comparatively young because of too much drinking, football and "carousing around." The aged negro was born July 4, 1829 in Culpepper county, Virginia, and served under Grant and Sherman in the Civil War. He has been preaching since 1847, and will preach Sunday at the MOunt Olive church at 4: p. m. Page married only once and had 22 children. A number of his years were spent as a slave to Jerry Page, Blenville Parish, Louisiana. He is now visiting his nephew, Dr. Andrew Page, at Elmo." [Note: Elmo is a community east of Terrell, Texas]
