Runaway in Jail
Parish of Natchitoches Was committed to the Jail of the parish
of Natchitoches, state of Louisiana, on the 20th inst. as a runaway
negro man who says his name is Lewis, and that he belongs to Mr.
Ashford, of the state of Mississippi - said negro man is about 36
years of age, six feet high the owner of said negro is requested to
come forward prove his property pay charges and take him out of jail
or said negro will be sold agreeably to law to pay for all charges.

Marie Mezieres, inhabitant of the parish of Natchitoches having
intention to emancipate her slave named Marie Joseph Natalie Aged
twenty-two years - every person who may have legal opposition to
said emancipation are requested to file said opposition in the office
of the parish court of said parish, within forty days of the date at
notice.

Athanas de Mazears
Having a petition to the Parish Judge of the Parish, praying to be
authorized to emancipate the following slaves, viz: Marie Fortunat,
Joseph Marie-Noel, Marie Flavie. All quatroons Notice is hereby given
to all those concerned to show cause, if any they have, within forty
days, why the prayers of said petition should not be granted.
