She was 60, a resident of Detroit and a native of Greensburg. Visiting at MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home Inc., La. 1042, Greensburg, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Religious services at Turner Chapel AME Church, off La. 1042, Greensburg, at 1 p.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Stanley J. Carter. Interment in church cemetery. Survived by her husband, Fred Brooks; two daughters, Wanda and Jacqueline Gordon, both of Detroit; two grandsons, Daquain and Jamal Gordon, both of Detroit; six sisters, Mary Jarrett, Detroit, Reva Matthews and Carlas Kendrick, both of New Or-leans, Helen Jackson, Baton Rouge, Sadie Muse, Greensburg, and Pinkie Farris, DeQuincy; three brothers, Matthew Gordon, Waldorf, Md., Lawrence Hall, Carson, Calif., and Arthur "Sonny" Evans, New Orleans; an aunt and uncle, Mable and George Raiford, Detroit; a great-aunt, Marie Gordon, Greensburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mardine Gordon; three brothers, John, Harold and Clovis Gordon; and two sisters, Ora Gordon and Goldine "Goldie" Smith.
