She was 96. Visiting at Turner Chapel AME Church, off La. 1042, Greensburg, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with family visiting from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Religious services at the church at 2 p.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Stanley J. Carter. Interment in church cemetery. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Godfrey Butler Jr. and wife Margie, Greensburg, and Clifton Butler, New Orleans; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Elmira Butler Wicker and Fred Wicker, Baton Rouge, Marguerite Butler Pitts and James Pitts, Greensburg, Carrie Butler Hampton and Lee A. Hampton Sr., Opelousas, and Evelyn Butler, Greensburg; a sister, Velma Lee, Greensburg; a brother, Tom Lee, Silver City, Miss.; two aunts, Lena Bennett Jackson and Lillie Bennett Jackson, both of Greensburg; Mildred Spriggins, Baton Rouge, who was like a special daughter to her; foster grandchildren, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
