A 2 year veteran of the United States Army, he completed two tours of duty in Vietnam. Born July 4, 1939 to Fred and Mary Edna Jackson Martin. Married to the former to Ingrid Louise Uhrig. of Germany. Survived by his wife; a daughter, Michelle Martin and a grandson Stephen Allen Martin, Jr., of Colorado Springs, Colorado. A brother, Robert Lee Martin, Sr. and five sisters Myrtis Dyer, Catherine E. Martin, Ella Pauline Bogan, Dimple May Martin and Mary Magdalene Martin, all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Preceeded in death by his mother and father, fiver brothers, Willie Morgan and Charlie, Clarence, Leon, Sr. and Alfred Martin, and his grandparents Adolphus and Elizabeth Jackson and Jim and Minnie Martin. Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd.. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Open Bible Baptist Church, 824 N.
