He was 83 and a native of Sorrento. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Visiting at Mount Zion First Baptist Church from 9 a.m. Thursday until religious services at 11 a.m., con-ducted by the Rev. T.J. Jemison. Interment in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Ida Houston Stephens of Baton Rouge; two daughters and a son-in-law, Synda E'Lois S. and Ronald Baker, and Alicia Estelle Stephens, all of Baton Rouge; a son and daughter-in-law, Shelly Glen Jr. and Joyce Baucom Stephens of Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, Eric L. Stephens and Chazz R. Baker, both of Baton Rouge, and Terry Patrice S. Terrell and hus-band 1st Lt. Kenyon Terrell Sr. of Fort Benning, Ga.; two great- grandchildren, Kenyon Terrell Jr. of Fort Benning and Trinity V. Stephens of Iowa City, Iowa; three sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law, Robert Sr. and Nancy Houston of Oakland, Calif., Louis Houston and Robert Turner Jr. of New Orleans, Edith Houston and Ishmel Jackson of Los Angeles, and Herbert Houston of Pontiac, Mich. Preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Emma Stephens; and stepmother, Anna L. Green. Rhodes United Fidelity Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
