Here is my great great great grandfather Thaddeus Damascus Van Horn obit from the New Orleans Times Democrat when he died in 1905. He served was a Captain in the 1st La Calavary and aide de camp to General Joseph Wheeler, Calvary General for the Army of Tennessee. VAN HORN, THADDEUS D. Obituary: N.O. Times Dem., April 6, 1905 Van Horn - On Wednesday, April 5, 1905, at 4:30 a.m., THADDEUS D. VAN HORN, aged eighty-four years, five months and sixteen days. The relatives and friends of the family, members of the Masonic order, and members of Army of Tennessee are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, which will take place this (Thursday) morning at 11 o'clock, from the late residence, No. 1754 Prytania street. NEW ORLEANS, APRIL 6, 1905 - Hall of Perfect Union Lodge No. 1 - The officers and members of this lodge are notified to assemble in lodgeroom THIS DAY at 10:30 a.m., to attend the funeral of Brother P.M.
