Case fixed for Saturday, May 12th. May 12, 1888 - Saturday: Case continued to Monday, May 14th. May 14, 1888 - Monday: Accused waived trial by jury. May 17, 1888 - Thursday: Accused found Guilty of Unlawful Hunting. Sentence was $25 fine plus costs. "It is further ordered that E. Durapau & Charles Thompson remain committed to the Parish Prison for the space of 4 hours in default of said fine." May 17, 1888 - Thursday (later in day): State of LA vs. E. Durapau & State of LA vs. C. Thompson...a motion to be relieved from the fine imposed on them in their respective sentences...it is hereby shown that the defendents have served the time in the Parish Prison imposed on them by the court in the sentences passed on the said C. Thompson & E. Durapau. It is ordered that they be released and relieved from paying said fine and released from custody.
