Objection overruled. Case was heard. Jury retired to deliberate but couldn't make a decision, so "the court ordered the Sheriff to take charge of the jury till tomorrow morning..." Oct. 22, 1887 - Saturday The jury returned with a verdict of Guilty Without Capital Punishment. Defendent was sentenced to imprisonment at Hard Labor in the State Penitentiary for and during the term of his natural life.
