State vs. Achille Garner - Murder - a true bill 2. State vs. Ed Johnson - Murder - a true bill 3. State vs. Jake Banion - Murder - a true bill 4. State vs. Labinia Provensal - Murder - a true bill 5. State vs. Felix Smith - Rape - a true bill 6. State vs. Janus Nick - Murder - a true bill We find the public buildings of the parish, the books and records of the Sheriff's, Clerk's and Treasurer's offices in order. No complaints against the treatment of the prisoner's in jail and the administration of the Sheriff. The records of the Justice of the Peace are reasonably well kept. The public records of the parish are in good order with the exception of the second ward. The attention of the Syndic is called there. We especially recommend that the Police Jury make the necessary appropriations to build a wooden revetment or Jacine in front of the projected levee on the batture fronting Hahnville, Home Place, and Fashion Plantation in the second ward of the parish...the State Board of Engineers having expressed their disposition to build said levee provided the parish builds said revetment. This being a matter of pressing public necessity should receive the early attention of our parish authorities.
