The levee in several places in this parish and road in front of Mr. A.
Brou, our syndic, for this ward; also, that fronting Flaggville, and
the store and residence of the Madere Bros' requires immediate attention.
Gentlemen of the Police Jury the complaints of our residents are loud
and deep.  Is there no remedy!

27 Dec 1884

The road between the Home and Star plantations is in an impassable
condition.  The continuing rains we are having for the past few weeks
keeps it soft, and makes it inconvenient for our traveling people.
