She had an easy smile, an enormous humble heart, and a passion for her family. She was prepared, on any given day, to offer something from her kitchen that represented love for the eight children, 20 grandchildren and 24 great- grandchildren that she cherished. She had a gift for making all feel like they were known individually, and each one was her personal favorite. Odile is survived by her sons, daughters, and their spouses: John Ayme and Barbara, Jim Duhe and Mary, Jack Duhe and Jody, June Fontanille and Carl, Joanne Langlinais Hurley and Charles, Janet Centanni and Mike. She is survived by brother Ursin J. Laurent Jr. and wife Joann; sisters Lillian Banquer and Cecile Trepagnler. She was preceded in death by parents, Ursin J. and Georgette Hotard Laurent; husbands:Harold J. "Teetsie" Ayme and Joseph J. "Junior"Duhe Jr.; and sons Jerold Duhe and Chris Duhe. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff and residents of Azalea Estates, caretakers Bea Chretien and Alma Sholmire for their tender care, and the amazing staff at Hospice of Baton Rouge, especially Marilyn and Linda. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Linda Schmill Kelone. Son of the late Emeric Kelone and Alma Gaspard Kelone. She was retired as a secretary with the St. Anthony Parish Rectory and worked under a number of priests. She was born on the Evergreen Plantation in Wallace, Louisiana and had lived in St. Charles Parish all of her life. She was a native of St. James Parish and resided in Destrehan since 1942 and was a regular parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She is survived by her son, Herbert Joseph Kling, Jr. and one sister, Melda Petit. Five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, whom she adored. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed. He graduated from Hahnville High School in 1975 and from Louisiana State University in 1979. He had 28 years experience working in the Oil Industry with his main focus on South Louisiana fields. He was preceded in death by his father Cyril Caillet and his brother Edward Caillet. He leaves behind his loving wife, Sandra of 26 years and his children; Charles Joseph Jr. "Joey", 24, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Jewel, 22, and Kirby, 19, of Katy, Texas. Also surviving are his mother Carol Caillet of Hahnville, his brother and sister-in-law David and Brenda Caillet of Baton Rouge and his sister and brother-in-law Claire and Bob Stonich of Whittier, California; several nieces and nephews. Charles was a lifelong LSU Tiger enthusiast and devoted husband, father, uncle and friend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made for masses or flowers for Holy Rosary Church. ========================= Aug 27, 2009 LAUNEY Funeral services for Mrs. Miriam Julie LeBlanc Launey, 88 were held on Aug. 18, 2009 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Destrehan, Louisiana with burial to follow at St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum. Father Daniel will officiate. Mrs. Launey died on Aug. 14, 2009. She was born in New Orleans on July 14, 1921 and grew up in Reserve, Louisiana on the Godchaux Sugar Plantation, where her father worked. She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law: Sonny and Sandra, Bruce and Mary Ann, Rich and Joan. She treasured her six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Courtney and her husband, Noel Everard, PhD. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Lowell Launey, and her mother and father, Hypolite and Ruphena LeBlanc, three brothers; Hyp, Wharton and Vernon and one sister, Elizabeth. Mrs. Launey graduated from LSU in 1941 and began teaching band and choral at Chataignier High School, Louisiana. There she met her future husband who was serving in the US Army during WWII. She and Lowell were married in Riverside, California. They returned to Louisiana after Lowell was discharged and she resumed her teaching career in St. Charles, St. John the Baptist and East Baton Rouge Parish. She taught in both the public and parochial school systems. She and Lowell were active in their church and were honorary life members of the River Road Historical Society. She served on its board and enjoyed training the tour guides for Destrehan Manor. She was very close to the Dominican Sisters of the New Orleans Provence and the monks of St. Joseph Abbey. After her husband's death, Mrs. Launey continued to live in Destrehan but decided to move to a retirement community, Nouveau Marc, in Kenner, Louisiana. After Katrina, she moved to Garden View, an assisted living home in Lafayette, Louisiana. She enjoyed her time at Nouveau Marc and at Garden View and the wonderful new friends she made. She particularly enjoyed attending Mass at Our Lady of Wisdom Chapel at UL Lafayette. The family is thankful to Hospice of Acadiana, her wonderful sitters, and the staffs of Garden View and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital who took such good care of Miriam in her final days. In particular, the family thanks Drs. Vanderlick, Snow and Lyons who provided compassionate care to Miriam. He was born on January 7, 1948 and was a native of Des Allemands and resident of Thibodaux. Bergeron is survived by his two brothers and their wives, Bryan Bergeron and Laurella and Stanley "Skippy" Bergeron and Yvonne, as well as his sister and her husband, Yolanda B. Triche and Wayne. He is also survived by numerous niecesand nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucien "Dale" and Marguerite A. Bergeron. He was 20 years old and a graduate of Destrehan High School. He is survived by his parents, John Bradley III and Sheila Hall Bradley; one brother, Chad Hall; paternal grandparents John Bradley II and his wife Sue Webb Bradley, and Patricia Holland; maternal grandfather Otis Hall; great-grandmother Gloria Joyce; and uncles and aunts, Jason Lemoine, Russell Bradley and Cynthia Perret, Jeremy Bradley and wife Kelly, and Joey, Samantha, and Joyce Hall. She was a native of Crocker, Missouri and had lived in Destrehan for the last 11 months with her daughter. McGinty loved to shop at WalMart, was an avid coin collector, and loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline L. Renner and friend, Trey Owen; one son and his wife, David Lee Mittlestadt and Brenda; three grandchildren, Tiley Minear, Amanda Riordanm, and Crystal Mittlestadt; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Edwin Mittlestadt and Charles McGinty; parents, Charles and Anna Joiner George; son Tracy Edwin; daughter Rita; brothers, Ralph, Bobby, Charles, Archie, Donald, Jack, Bill, Frank, Kenny, and Ferris; sisters, Betty and Bernice; and grandson Devin Alexander Tumasz. Gordon was a graduate of Joseph S. Clark High School. Later on, she attended Louisiana State University in New Orleans. She worked for the U.S. Immigration Service and was a longtime housewife. She was 92 years old. She is survived by her son, Terry Langkopp, and his wife Jennifer Baker Langkopp; her grandchildren, Kim Meyers St. Romain, Johanna Meyers Snider, and William Meyers; Christopher, Casey, and David Jones; Rachel, Matthew, and Nicholas Langkopp; her brother, Louis Streker; six great-granddaughters and six great-grandsons; five great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John "Johnny" F. Langkopp, Jr.; her daughters, Joan L. Meyers and Linda L. Jones; her brothers Charles, William, and Frank "Jack" Streker, as well as her sister, Eugenia Quinlan Streker in New Orleans. After marrying, she and Johnny made a life in St. Bernard Parish. A enduring educator, she started early on by coaching, usually swimming, at the Recreational Department parks. After postponing her own education in order to raise her children, she returned to college and earned her bachelor's degree in education at Tulane and her master's plus thirty hours in education at LSUNO. She served as president of the St. Bernard chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, and was very active as a 4-H teacher, as well as a participant in various Homemakers clubs. Upon her retirement, she lived in Poplarville, MS, Bay St. Louis, MS, and Slidell, LA. While still physically able, she volunteered much of her time and services to schools and nursing homes wherever she lived. A teacher till the very end, she donated her body to the Bureau of Anatomical Services to be used for medical education and research. She was a longtime resident of Norco. Ms. Mire attended Southeastern University in Hammond, and was a graduate of St. Charles Borromeo High School. She was a bookkeeper for several years for Milne Home in New Orleans, prior to Hurricane Katrina. In her younger days, she enjoyed tennis and bowling. Rheumatoid arthritis stole her mobility and youth in her late 20s. Regardless of her impairments, though, her spirit was never diminished, and she was an inspiration to all who knew her personally. Later on, she gained a passion for computers and the Internet, where she expanded her network of friends to places as far away as Colorado. She was the daughter of the late Rosalie Hebert and late Herman Mire; sister of Michael Mire; sister-in-law of Peggy Frechou Mire; and aunt of Kristen and Katie Mire. Sister was born in Wallace, Louisiana, daughter of the late Felicien Joseph Brou and Helene Fontaine Brou, sister of the late Marie-Louise B. LaDow, Maurice J. Brou, Edward D. Brou, Sister Jane Frances Brou, O.P., and Francis E. Brou. Survived by two sisters, Mrs. Cecile B. Mongrue and Mrs. Jeanne B. Caillet both of Luling, Louisiana, and nieces and nephews. Sister Marguerite received a bachelor's degree in French from St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans, Louisiana, master's degrees in French and in Library Science from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and a Ph.D. in French Literature from Laval University in Quebec, Canada. Since her profession of vows in 1945, Sister Marguerite was a French Professor, Registrar, Business Office Assistant, Bookstore Manager, Director of the Library, Chair of the Humanities Department, and Chair of the Foreign Language Department at St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans. From 1971-81, Sister was the Archivist for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. She became the Treasurer for the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse in 1981 and held that position until 1984 when she was named the Archivist for St. Mary's Dominican College until 2000. "Cadle" Roussel, Sr. He is survived by his devoted mother, Joy Ann Matherne Roussel; his brothers Kevin Roussel and wife Kerri Montz Roussel, and Craig Roussel and his wife Yvette Tavan Roussel; and his paternal grandmother, Noelie Roussel. Mrs. Stricker was assistant sales manager for General Motors, Chevrolet Division until her retirement. She enjoyed all aspects of Mardi Gras from being in several krewe courts to Jim's direct participation in Pete Fountain's Half-Fast Walking Club and her auxiliary wives' club. A long time member of Chateau County Club, Mrs. Sticker was active in the Jane Austin society and garden club activities. Dancing was a favorite pastime including Cajun, Jamaica and ballroom, until illness prevented her active participation. Friends and family attended memorial services held at Leitz-Egan Funeral Home.
