He was the beloved husband of Yvonne Brune Autin, former husband of the late Marie Rials Autin, father of Bobby Conrad Autin, father-in-law of Elizabeth Amos Autin, son of the late Claude A. Autin and Ara Ohmer Autin, brother of Amy Autin Rojas, Ora Autin Knight, Nada Autin Broderick, Claudette Autin Myers and Mervin Autin; grandfather of Bobby C. Autin II, Jason M. Autin, Alexander E. Autin, Anna E. Autin and Avery E. Autin; stepfather of Paul Tranchina, Tobie Tranchina and Timmy Tranchina; brother-in-law of Tracy C. "Sonny" Rials. He was a native of Napoleonville and a resident of the West Bank for the past 77 years. He was an Army Veteran and worked in the family moss business before enlisting in the Army. After serving his country, he returned to buy the family business from his father in the early 1950s. He was co-founder of West Bank Towing Company and Gulf Mississippi Marine Corporation, "The Gulf Fleet." In 1974 he started Louisiana International Marine Inc. with his son, Bobby. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Investors Bank and Trust. He was an Honorary Colonel in the Jefferson Parish Sheriff Department, a member of The Harry Lee "500" Club, a Member of the Krewe of Alla and King in 1983. He was a member of "The Scottish Rite," The Shriners and Ducks Unlimited. He will always be remembered for work being his passion and family his love. The Autin family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt appreciation to Millie and Karroll Castillo for their love and care given to Claude during his time of illness. Relatives and friends were invited to attend the funeral services at Mothe Funeral Home in Harvey on Nov. 2 with interment following in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. ===================
