BECNEL, WALTER PIERRE 

Walter Pierre Becnel, "Beck", age 85 years, entered into eternal rest on March 
19, 2010 surrounded by his loving family. 

Beloved husband of 56 years of Grace Trosclair Becnel. Father of Susan Becnel 
Davis (Alan) of Maitland, Fl.; Sharon Becnel Gaubert (Shawn) and Jan Becnel 
Brignac (Brian) of Luling, La.; Nancy Becnel Miller (Gerald, "Jerry") of 
Thibodaux, La.; Stewart Becnel (Lynn) of Jefferson, La.; Farrel Becnel (Lori) 
Marrero, La.; and the late Dr. Gordon Becnel. Grandfather of 15 grandchildren 
and 4 great-grandchildren. Survived by three sisters, Sr. Mary Magdalen Becnel, 
Rita Becnel, and Anne Becnel Comeaux of Lafayette, La. 

Preceded in death by parents Walter A. Becnel and Leocadie H. Becnel and 
fourteen sisters and brothers. 

A native of St. James, La., former resident of Luling, La., and resident of 
Ville Ste. Marie Senior Living in Jefferson, La. Veteran of World War II in the 
European Theater. Employed by Avondale Shipyards for 40 years. 

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 
St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 256 Angus Drive, Luling, LA, on Monday, 
March 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Visitation beginning at 8:30 AM until mass time. 
Interment in Crucifixion Mausoleum in St. Charles Cemetery. 

The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice Compassus for their loving care. 
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers Mass intentions OR contributions to 
Associated Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans, 1000 Howard Avenue, 
Suite 1000, New Orleans, LA 70113.
