BOURG

Missionary Ferlin Bourg, 56, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2010 after a 
nearly year-long battle with lung cancer.

He was raised on Cortez Island in Lake Des Allemands and in Boutte. He graduated 
from Hahnville High School in 1971. In 1993, he was ordained as a minister in 
Loranger, La., with the House of Prayer and Praise.

He is survived by his wife, Crestina, three children: Angel Bless, 11, Sharon 
Rose, 4, and Jireh Paul, 10; his mother, Magdalene Fonseca Bourg of Boutte; 
father, Adam Bourg of Metairie; step father, Jimmy Fonseca; step mother, Marie 
Bourg; brothers, Blaine Bourg and wife Patsy, and Bart Bourg and wife Michelle. 
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dora and Edward (Pedro) Cortez of 
Des Allemands and Lydia and Louis Adam Bourg of Boutte.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all those locally who helped 
to support his mission work during the past 16 years.

Funeral services were held on April 18 at the Voice of Zion Headquarters Church 
in Bacong, Philippines. Burial took place at Bacong Municipal Cemetery in the 
Philippines.
