Dufresne Jr., age 72, Chief Judge of the Louisiana 5th Circuit Court of Appeal passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010. Owner of Jackie Bee Investments, LLC and Esperanza Land LLC. He served as St. Charles Parish Clerk of Court and 29th Judicial District Judge Division D before being elected to the state appeals court. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Dorothy St. Amant Dufresne. Four daughters; Debra Vial (husband David, Sr.), Dana Authement (husband Louis), Denise Hymel (husband James, Sr.) and Dawn Dawson (husband Michael). Ten grandchildren; David and Dena Vial, Grant, Ross, Dane, Bryce and Ayden Authement, Jimmy and Justin Hymel and Anna Irene Dawson. Two-step-grandchildren; Monica St. Cyr and Megan Dawson. He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward August Dufresne, Sr. and Irene Ludwig Delehay Dufresne and in-laws: William and Dorothy St. Amant. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville and will continue on Friday, December 10, 2010 from 8:00 am until 10:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church at 11:00 am with Fr. B. Francis officiating. Private graveside services will follow in the family cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may made in his honor to the Dufresne Memorial Fund, First American Bank, P. O. Box 550, Vacherie, LA 70090 Funeral arrangements are under the direction of H. C.
