November 23, 1920 - June 23, 2010 Mr. Gros was born on November 23, 1920 in New Orleans, La. and passed away Wednesday, June 23 at the home of his daughter in Minden. Funeral Services for Emile Victor Gros, Jr., 89, will be held at 10:00 am, Monday June 28 at Alexander Funeral Home in Norco, La. with Rev. Juliet Spencer officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 27 from 6pm- 8pm and 8am- 10am on Monday. Interment will be held at St. Peter's Cemetery in Reserve, La. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emile Victor and Winnefred Cora Scholly Gros; his son, Michael Gerard Gros; and sister, Audrey Gros Norton. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Leontine Ory Gros; children Lynette Gros Stubbs and husband Charles of Minden, La.; son David and wife, Connie of LaPlace, La.; son James and wife, Joan of Abita Springs, La.; and son Charles of Hammond, La.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps and an accountant with Shell Oil Company for 30 years. Pallbearers will be Brad Gros, David Gros, James Gros, H.P. Loupe, Robert Norton, and Stanley Robert. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the American Legion Spillway Post 195. The family wishes to thank Chris Harris, Pat Harris, Lilli Norton, Teresa Smith, and Rosita Thomas for the love and care given to their father.
