She was 96, Agnes was a deeply religious person. She died in her sleep in the arms of Our Lord who gently led her home. She was born in Baton Rouge, LA. She was a graduate of Louisiana State University, having received a Bachelor of Education in Home Economics. She lived In Norco for 57 years and spent the last 15 years of her life in LaPlace having resided at Place DuBourg, Maison Oaks Assisted Living Facility and Twin Oaks Nursing Facility. She was a charter member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Norco and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a recipient of the Order of St. Louis Medallion. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edward S. "Ned" Lowry, Sr., her daughter, Marguerite Lowry Arroyo, and her grandson, Kelly Baxley. Survivors include two daughters, Nelwyn and husband, Charles "Bax" Baxley and Claire and husband, Keller Groves; two sons, Richard and Edward and his wife, Claire; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 401 Spruce Street. Norco, on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 9:00 am to 10:45 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial will be in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum, Destrehan. In lieu of flowers, masses or donations to Father Benny Piovan's Mexico Mission (make checks payable to AOL Church memo "Fr. Benny") are requested. Arrangements are under the direction of H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. ===================
