BELL

Charles “Sonny” Edward Bell, Jr., 76, a superintendent with Monsanto for 30 
years and Silgan Corp for 4 years, passed away Oct. 5, 2011.

He was the husband of Ellen Manasco for the past 25 years, husband of the late 
Sue Lawson Bell from a first marriage, son of the late Charles Edward Bell Sr. 
and Geraldine Adams Bell, father of Deborah McGowan (Steve), Kyle Bell 
(Carissa), Kelly Mullen, John Bell (Stephanie); stepfather of Donald Jr. 
(Annette), Mark (Laurie), Lori, Darryl (Karmann) and Glynn Samaha, nephew of 
Frances “ Tankie” Scales. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and one 
great-grandchild. 

He was a native of Eldorado, Ariz. and a resident of Luling. Services were held 
at Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling on Oct. 10.
Interment followed in St. Charles Cemetery in Luling.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church in 
Luling and the American Cancer Society. 

Mothe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
