He was surrounded by family and friends, the room filled with the love and laughter of memories being shared. He grew up in Westwego, the middle son of the late Anatole Joseph Bourg, Sr. and the late Melba Bourgeois Bourg. He was an Eagle Scout of Troop 196 of Westwego and a 1974 graduate of Archbishop Shaw High School of Marrero. He was known to many as "Nat", and worked from the age of 20 in sales, his employers including Beacon Supply Co, Beacon-Texas Marine of Houston, TX, Servidyne Inc, Wilmar Industries, General Packaging Products and most recently retired Aug 31 after 9 years as Purchasing Manager with Eagle Industries of Harahan, Louisiana. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Antoinette Macloud Bourg, daughters Danielle Bourg Berthelot and Heather Bourg McClung and was known as "BigPa" to his two grandchildren, Meghan Ashley Berthelot and Nicholas Aaron Berthelot. Also survived by his sister JoAnn Marie Bourg, brother Blaise Bernard Bourg, niece Amanda Bourg Fonseca and her husband Paul Fonseca, grand nephew Ethan Paul Fonseca, and two son-in-laws he considered his sons, Alan Paul Berthelot and Travis Joseph McClung. His greatest joys were his wife, daughters and grand-children, traveling, food, spending time with his family and just living life. He loved the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers. He loved the Christmas season and considered it his favorite time of year. Hobbies included listening to music, electronics and handy-man and woodworking-type projects. He will be remembered by many who knew him for his intelligence, strength of will and love of life, but those closest to him knew his quick wit and sense of humor. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life at a visitation to be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco, LA and will continue on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 9:00 am until 10:45 am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan.
