She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Simeon Cote for 58 years, loving mother of Albert Simeon Cote Jr. (wife Mary Hidalgo Cote) of Destrehan, Susan Marie Cote Kroll (husband Gordner Kroll) of Ponchatoula, and David W. Cote of The Woodlands, Texas; daughter of the late Albert Hellmers and Josephine Garbo Hellmers, sister of Ilene Thornton of Shreveport and the late Shirley Molonguet, grandmother of Jeffrey and Benjamin Cote, Alexis Danielle Kroll and Kenneth and Kathleen Cote; great-grandmother of Sarah Cote, Anthony Cote and Adrian Cote. She was a native of New Orleans and former resident of Donaldsonville and Slidell. She was a lifelong advocate for literacy and was the founder and director of the St. Tammany Literacy Program. Funeral Services were held on March 4 at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell. Interment followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to St. Charles Parish Library. Arrangements were by Honaker Funeral Home Inc. of Slidell. ===================
