DUGAS, ALLEN F., SR.

Allen F. Dugas Sr., 84, entered into heaven on Oct. 17, 2011, at his home with 
his loving family at his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was the devoted husband of Ruth Haas Dugas for 60 years, loving father of 
Allen Dugas Jr., Jill Dugas Coursey and Tonia Marie Dugas; proud grandfather of 
eight grandchildren: Kellie Benton Presswood, Christopher and Kevin Benton, 
John and Jaimie Wells, and Brittany, Tyler and Zachary Dugas; great-grandfather 
of Emerson Clair Presswood, son of the late Irene D’Arensbourg Dugas and 
Elphage F. Dugas, and brother of Theresa Dugas Champagne (Johnny) and the late 
Percy Dugas (Ernie) and Ethel Dugas Abee (Russell). He is also survived by 
numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him 
dearly. 

He was a native of Luling and a resident of Tickfaw for the past 20 years. 
He was a World War II Navy Veteran and retired from the American Cyanamid 
(Cytec) after 35 years of service.

A Funeral Mass was held on Oct. 19 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home in 
Metairie. 
Interment followed in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
