A native of Hahnville, LA and a resident of New Sarpy, LA for the past 60 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Richard "Black" Durapau, Sr. Three daughters; Donna Benoit (Jerry), Debby Durapau (Issac New) and Lisa Durapau (Manuel Bautista) and two sons; Richard "Rap" Durapau, Jr. (Danelle) and Dennis Durapau, Sr. (Sheila). Two brothers; Gerald Nicholas (Shirley) and Roy Nicholas (Norma) and one sister, Minnie Verdun (Jack). Ten grandchildren; Gerald, Shannon, Scott, Shirla Kay, Dennis, Jason, Matthew, Ryan and Mason seventeen great-grandchildren; Amber, Savannah, Courtland, Trever, Austin, Carson, Joseph, Anthony, Jordan, Brandon, Harlley, Emma, Gwendolyn, Hayvin, Olivia, Benjamin and Nathan. She was preceded in death by her parents; Leon Nicholas and Phelonise Friloux. Siblings; Sidney Nicholas, Erna May Keller, Vivian Verdin and Earl Nicholas. Granddaughter; Kassie Lynn Federer and great-granddaughter, Samantha Kaye Benoit. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco and will continue on Thursday, December 8, 2011 from 8:00 am until 10:30 am. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan with Fr. Tom McCann officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Charles Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 332 N. Lauderdale St., Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements under the direction of H.C.
