Department of Agriculture and a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, June 13, 2011, at the Ormond Nursing and Care Center in Destrehan, Louisiana. He was 85. Mr. Griffith had been married for 47 years to his late wife, Rosemarie Teutone Griffith. He is survived by four children, Steven Franklin Griffith, and wife, MaryElizabeth, Janet Marie Griffith, Gary Christopher Griffith, and wife, Katherine, and Gloria Anne Griffith; his sister, Dorothy Griffith Mart, and husband, Frank; his sister-in-law, Joan Teutone Marchione, and husband, Louis; grandchildren, Steven F. Griffith, Jr., and wife Neely, and Jason Franklin Griffith; three great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Paige Griffith, Jolie Abigail Griffith, and Catherine Elise Griffith; and a large number of nieces and nephews and other loved ones. Mr. Griffith was also preceded in death by two children, son, Eric Lawrence Griffith, and daughter, Lorraine Marie Griffith; his parents, James Franklin and Josephine Cassaly Griffith; and his brother, Gerald James Griffith. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011, from 9:30 a.m. at the H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Funeral services and a short mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Daniel Bru officiating. Military honors will follow in the Chapel of Eternal Faith at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Metairie.
