Kenneth "K.D." Howell, Sr. age 68 passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2011. 

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. 
He was a Captain with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Department after 12 years 
of service and with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department for 4 years. He 
worked for 21 years with the Union Pacific Railroad.

He is survived by his son Kenneth Howell, Jr. (Heidi) and three daughters; Karen 
Howell Cash (Carey), Kathryn Howell and Kimberly Howell Cox. His former wife 
Merble B. Howell. Two brothers; Millard "Dixie" Howell (Bonnie) and Richard 
"Butch" Howell (Jean) and two sisters; Ferol and Mary Ann Howell. Eleven 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents William Howell and Emma Brown Howell. 
Grandson, Jai Polk.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2011 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 
pm at the H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. Funeral service will be held at 
10:00 pm from the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to assistant with 
funeral expenses to First American Bank, 13355 Hwy 90, Boutte, LA 70039.
